Mark and Patricia McCloskey First Court Appearance
Mark and Patricia McCloskey have made their first court appearance in a St. Louis courtroom today. The couple charged with brandishing guns at protesters during a Black Lives Matter protest outside of their mansion. A grand jury will be hearing the case on October 6th.
The McCloskeys made national headlines in June. Photos and video went viral as they pointed guns at protesters outside of their St. Louis, Missouri house. Black Lives Matter protesters broke down a gate leading into their community. Furthermore, the McCloskeys received criticism for their speech at the Republican National Convention in addition to their criticism of St. Louis Circuit Attorney, Kim Gardner.
The McCloskeys didn’t speak to the press. After the short hearing, the McCloskey’s lawyer, Joel Schwartz, answered questions from the media. While the McCloskeys stayed as the press asked questions, they never gave a statement.
